EHMC Capital Campaign

The 3-Year Capital Campaign at East Hills Moravian is underway!

As East Hills Moravian Church enters her sixty-third year, God’s spirit is truly alive in our church family. In every possible way – membership, worship attendance, outreach, new ministries, and program participation – East Hills is active and vibrant. East Hills is a “happening place.”

As our congregation nears its 63rd birthday, our church building is beginning to show its age. Many items in and around it are simply worn out. There are other items which must be attended to before they become major problems. There are some important things that should be done now, to provide for the comfort and convenience of our growing church family and refresh the building’s curb appeal.

In addition, as the church grows, the many and diverse programs of the church need our support to continue to carry our ministry to the larger community.

Over the last year, the Board of Trustees and East Hills’ program leaders have developed a priority list of renovations which ought to be attended to in the very near future. The total estimated cost of these necessary renovations has been estimated at $330,000.

After prayerful consideration, the Joint Board has named this renovation program: “With Gladness Raise, Built Together With Christ.” 

With details of the program approved by Church Counil on December 9, 2017, the capital campaign to raise the money for these renovations is now under way.

The capital campaign will run for three years through the beginning of 2021. If all goes as planned, the renovations will be completed in time for East Hills’ 63rd anniversary in June 2019, making a true celebration of both spiritual and physical renewal!

Our goals:

• Replace sanctuary and fellowship hall roof
• Replace sanctuary pews and carpeting
• Replace all windows and ceiling lights
• Replace narthex and hallway carpeting throughout building
• Paint all walls and ceilings
• Install air conditioning and replace heating in sanctuary
• Install multi-media audio visual equipment in sanctuary
• Replace and upgrade all interior lighting

Estimated total price tag: $330,000
